Well, I have to come to accept that my little boy is growing up. He turns 1 tomorrow and we had his 1st birthday party today. We had lots of relatives and friends there and it was a great time. Matthew was such a good boy. He loved to play with the balloons and party hats. He wasn't really that interested in opening his presents but there were plenty of other kids there willing to help him out with the opening and playing with of his new toys.
Thanks everyone for all of the wonderful gifts and for spending the day with us. It was so nice to see everyone again.
He wasn't really sure what to do with his cake at first. He had his own little "dig in" cake. After having some bites from a spoon he finally did dig in and enjoy- mostly the frosting. It was really cute. He didn't make too much of a mess though just on his hands and arms mostly and the high chair.
The next big step for us is putting his big boy car seat in the car instead of his infant seat. I don't know if I can handle his growing up.
